Building Dignity, One Community at a TimeÂ
At UNIFIED, every project begins with a simple question: What does dignity look like here? Whether it’s a shelter, a training center, or a classroom, our work is shaped by the voices of the communities we serve. We don’t impose solutions—we co-create them. Each initiative reflects a local vision for change, supported by tools, trust, and long-term commitment. Here are three projects that embody our mission in action:Â
Location: Al- Haj Yousif, Khartoum - Sudan
Focus: Vocational Training, Youth Empowerment, Economic Inclusion
In the underserved suburbs of Khartoum, youth unemployment is a persistent challenge. UNIFIED’s Skills for Tomorrow project offers vocational training in carpentry, tailoring, electrical work, and digital literacy—paired with mentorship and small business support.
The program targets young adults who have dropped out of school or lack formal employment opportunities. By equipping them with marketable skills and startup kits, we’re helping them build livelihoods that are sustainable and locally relevant.
To date, over 300 trainees have completed the program, with 70% securing employment or launching microenterprises.
“I used to wait for work. Now I create it.” — Idris, Apprentice Carpenter
Location: Greater Cairo RegionÂ
Focus: Education Access for Displaced Sudanese Children
After the outbreak of war in Sudan, thousands of families fled to neighboring countries—many arriving in Egypt with no resources and no access to formal education. UNIFIED’s Learning Beyond Borders initiative established community classrooms in Cairo, staffed by Sudanese educators and supported with curriculum materials, psychosocial care, and language support.
The program ensures that displaced children continue their education in a safe, culturally familiar environment. It also offers trauma-informed support to help students process their experiences and rebuild confidence.
Currently, over 200 children are enrolled across three learning centers, with plans to expand to Alexandria and Aswan.
“School feels like home again.” — Mariam, Age 12
Location: Southern Nevada (Clark County)Â
Focus: Homelessness, Transitional Housing, Wraparound Services
In Southern Nevada, the crisis of homelessness continues to grow—impacting families, veterans, youth, and individuals facing systemic barriers to stability. UNIFIED is currently in active dialogue with HUD and Clark County to introduce ECASS: Equitable Community Access to Shelter & Support, a bold, multi-layered initiative designed to transform how transitional housing and support services are delivered.
ECASS goes beyond shelter. It envisions a network of community-based housing units integrated with wraparound services—mental health care, job readiness, substance use recovery, and case management—all tailored to meet people where they are. The program is designed to be scalable, trauma-informed, and rooted in dignity.
Our goal is to create pathways out of homelessness that are not only effective, but empowering—restoring agency, rebuilding trust, and reconnecting individuals to opportunity.
“We’re not just proposing beds. We’re proposing belonging.” — UNIFIED Program Lead
As conversations progress, UNIFIED remains committed to co-designing ECASS with local stakeholders, service providers, and the communities most affected—ensuring that the final model reflects both urgency and humanity.
